Freitas, better known as Young, bested Santa Clara player Ander "Neat" Tobal in the finals, which were played in a best-of-three format. Young, however, only required two matches to beat his opponent. In a swift 6-1 and 5-1, he proved himself way more decisive than Neat. The match and the rest of the finals were broadcast live on Twitch.

World Cup and eChampions League

Young won Portugal's biggest digital football competition and secured a ticket for the eChampions League and FC Pro World Championship. The eChampions League will occur next month in Manchester (knock-out rounds) and Munich (finals), whereas the World Cup will happen later this summer. Young is the first Team Gullit player to qualify for the eChampions League, and the second after Levi de Weerd to be eligible for the World Cup. More spots for both tournaments are given next weekend during the eDivisie finals (Netherlands) and LaLiga finals (Spain).
