What is EA FC 25 Rush?
With the release of EA FC 25, developer EA Sports is also launching a new game mode called Rush. The new mode aims to offer a fast-paced, social five vs. five soccer experience, maintaining the feel and techniques of 11 vs. 11. Unlike its predecessor, Volta, Rush will not be a standalone game mode but integrates in various ways into the well-known Ultimate Team, Clubs, Career, and Kick-off modes.
How do you play EA FC 25 Rush?
Rush is played five vs. five on a modified smaller field. You and three friends control the four outfield players, while the goalkeeper is AI-controlled, as you are used to. However, just like in 11 vs. 11, one player on the team can control the keeper's movements.
When both teams are ready to start, it's time for the first rule adjustment. In Rush, the game doesn't start with a kickoff; instead, the first possession is determined by a race to the ball.
Once underway, you will encounter three significant changes compared to a regular match, aside from the smaller field. Firstly, the offside rule is modified, so instead of being offside at the halfway line, you can only be offside in the final third of the field. Secondly, severe fouls are no longer punished with yellow or red cards but with blue cards. If a player receives a blue card, they must leave the field for 1 minute or until the opponent scores.
Lastly, penalties in Rush are a thing of the past. There is still a penalty area, but if a foul is committed on a player within it, a one vs. one shootout ensues between the fouled player and the opposing team's keeper. The player has a maximum of 10 seconds to score.
EA FC 25 Rush in the Different Game Modes
Unlike its predecessor Volta, Rush will not have a dedicated game mode but will be part of the existing EA FC modes. Each mode will have a slightly different setup that aligns with the existing progression and reward systems.
