EA FC 24 EURO 2024 Update: Everything you need to know

With the UEFA EURO 2024 tournament just around the corner, EA Sports has released the EA FC 24 Festival of Football Update update. This update enables players to play in one of the nine stadiums of the European Cup, as well as upgrades to their Ultimate Team players. Not only that, but there are also new loan types and, last but not least, a new skill move called the Double Touch Lane Change.

Authentic EA FC 24 UEFA EURO 2024 Experience

The update promises an authentic UEFA EURO 2024 experience, with real-life stadiums, broadcast packages, official match ball, and the coveted trophy. Players can dive into the official tournament mode, playing with the teams competing in the upcoming UEFA EURO 2024. A custom tournament mode also allows for gameplay with European teams and players not in the actual tournament.

Custom Avatars and challenging friends

Players can now create custom Avatars to captain their chosen team on the road to Berlin, controlling either an individual player or the entire national team. The update includes training drills before each match to earn up to seven PlayStyles, enhancing gameplay.

Online friendlies will capture the Final atmosphere at Berlin's Olympiastadion, allowing players to challenge friends with any of the 24 qualified teams or other European national squads available in the game. Online Friends cross-play will be available for players on the same platform generation.

EA FC 24 Path to Glory Campaign

The Path to Glory campaign is the centrepiece of the Festival of Football. It tracks each nation's progress in the tournament, with players having the unique ability to upgrade based on their national team's performance. Alongside current stars, the update honours football legends with ICONs & Heroes, whose upgrades are tied to the number of goals scored by their nations. This feature pays tribute to the greats who have significantly impacted the sport.

Introduction of New Loan Types

The update introduces two new types of loans besides the traditional Match Loans: Timed Loans and Global Loans.

• Match Loans: These remain unchanged, allowing players to borrow items for a specified number of matches.

• Global Loans applies to all players simultaneously, starting and ending at set times. When the timer reaches zero, the loan item expires and is removed from the club. This new type of loan aims to create diverse squad-building opportunities and increase themed content. Global Loans will be used during international competitions for the first time, with Festival of Football Global Loans set to expire on July 18.

Enhancements to Football Ultimate Team

Logging into Football Ultimate Team during the Path to Glory campaign grants players a Global Loan of a Path to Glory player, giving their squad an international boost. This initiative is part of EA SPORTS FC™ 24's effort to make the game more dynamic and reflective of real-world football events.

The Festival of Football update is set to provide an engaging and immersive experience for players, celebrating the spirit of international football and offering new gameplay mechanics to explore.

EA FC 24 new skill move: Double Touch Lane Change

The Double Touch Lane Change (4-star skill move) is the newest Skill Move in the game. According to EA, this move comes later during the Euro 2024, most likely at the end of the month. You can perform the Double Touch Lange Change by Holding L2 + Holding RS R/L on the PlayStation or Holding LT + Holding RS R/L Xbox.

The rest: new celebration (Cole Palmer) and minor updates

Players can use the new Cold celebration from Chelsea player Cole Palmer. Additionally, Manager Career now features improved Youth Prospects scouting, allowing players to discover talents with 90+ potential and seven PlayStyles, with two PlayStyles+ unlocked at 80 and 90 OVR.

Clubs mode benefits from a permanent double XP multiplier, speeding up Virtual Pro progression based on match performance.

Additionally, the update introduces 27 new player star heads, enhancing player likenesses in the Premier League, including stars like Rodri and Eberechi Eze.
